,The culmination event of World Breastfeeding Week was held in the premises of Geetanjali Hospital. The event was organized with Geetanjali Medical College and Hospital, Rotary Club of Udaipur, IAP Udaipur, and Innerwheel Club. Addressing the audience during the event, Dr. Devendra Sareen discussed the activities conducted throughout the week to promote breastfeeding. He emphasized the need to spread the message of breastfeeding to remote rural areas, urging college students to contribute.
Dr. F.S. Mehta, Vice Chancellor of Geetanjali University, praised the organized symposiums related to breastfeeding, highlighting the significance of mother's milk for infants. Dr. Manjinder Kaur, Additional Principal of Geetanjali Institute of Pharmacy, stressed the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months. Rtn. Girish Mehta, President of Rotary Club of Udaipur, explained the role of Mother's Milk Bank in supporting breastfeeding.
Dr. Sweety Chhabda, President of Innerwheel Club, provided detailed insights into the benefits of breastfeeding for mothers. Prateem Tamboli, CEO of Geetanjali Institute, discussed the need for workplaces to support breastfeeding by allowing lactation breaks.
A quiz competition was organized for Geetanjali Institute of Pharmacy students, and winners were awarded for their participation. Notably, the event saw the unveiling of a breastfeeding pledge, with at least ten mothers committing to inspire others towards breastfeeding. The attendees, including students, took the pledge to promote breastfeeding.
Innerwheel Club Secretary Dr. Anju Giri (Mental Health) and members Surjeet Chhabda, Sundari Chatwani, Snehalata Shambhala, and Anju Khaturia attended the event. The program was conducted by Dr. Anjali Vyasa and Dr. Preet Sharma, and Dr. Sushil Gupta expressed gratitude during the closing ceremony.
