GMC Hosts State Task Force Meeting on Tuberculosis Elimination

Udaipur, - In collaboration with the Department of Respiratory Medicine and the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program, Geetanjali Medical College organized a review meeting of the State Task Force on October 21, 2023. Approximately 60 pulmonary specialists from Rajasthan, along with district tuberculosis officers from various districts, participated in the event.

Dr. Suryakant Tripathi, Chairman of the Regional Task Force North Zone, Lucknow, and Dr. Vinod Garg, State TB Officer, attended the program online.

Dr. Suryakant discussed the role of medical colleges in the Tuberculosis Free Panchayat Campaign, while Dr. Vinod Garg provided insights into tuberculosis notification.

Dr. Gaurav Chhabda, the Head of the Department of Respiratory Medicine, welcomed all the healthcare professionals. Dr. Ramakant Dixit, the Chairman of the State Task Force, discussed various activities for tuberculosis elimination in Rajasthan and emphasized the need for research among tuberculosis patients. Additional Principal of the medical college, described the Tuberculosis Elimination Program as India's most vital and well-organized initiative. Dr. S.K. Luhadia, a senior pulmonary specialist, shed light on the contributions of medical colleges to the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP) and expressed gratitude for their involvement.
