### Successful Brain Tumor Surgery with Hybrid Technology

A team of doctors at Paras Health Udaipur has successfully performed a complex brain tumor surgery using hybrid technology. This innovative procedure has allowed for the successful treatment of a 70-year-old man suffering from a severe brain tumor. The patient had been experiencing chronic headaches and swelling of the head for an extended period. After consulting with a doctor and undergoing an MRI scan, Mr. Laxman (name changed) was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor. The tumor had spread from the bone to the brain, thickening the skull and causing persistent headaches. Multiple doctors recommended surgery, but the tumor’s high blood supply posed significant risks, including excessive bleeding during the operation, which could have been fatal.

Dr. Ajit Singh, a senior neurosurgeon at Paras Health Udaipur, adopted the hybrid technique to remove the brain tumor. This innovative treatment approach involved using a wire to block the tumor’s blood supply beforehand, significantly reducing the risk of excessive bleeding during surgery.

After consulting with doctors, Mr. Laxman agreed to undergo surgery using this technique. Initially, Dr. Tarun Mathur performed an angiography to stop the blood supply to the tumor. The next day, Dr. Ajit Singh conducted the surgery. During the operation, it was discovered that the tumor had spread from the bone to the brain’s muscles and nerves. However, due to the pre-blocked blood supply, minimal bleeding occurred, and the patient did not require a blood transfusion. The patient was discharged from the hospital the next day and is now fully healthy.

Due to the tumor's presence in the bone, the affected bone segment was removed, and a titanium mesh cranioplasty was performed. This type of tumor is known as intraosseous meningioma, which accounts for only 1% of all bone tumors and is typically associated with high bleeding risk during surgery.

Commenting on the procedure, Dr. Ajit Singh said, “This hybrid technique has proven to be a game-changer in the surgical treatment of complex brain tumors. By pre-blocking the tumor’s blood supply, we can significantly reduce blood loss during the operation and minimize surgical risks. This method has shown excellent results and could be a boon for patients suffering from similar conditions.”

Paras Health Udaipur has been using this hybrid technique for some time, benefiting many brain tumor patients. The hospital is committed to providing advanced and effective healthcare solutions to ensure the best treatment for its patients.
