Abu Road, The national media conference held at the Peace Park campus of the Brahma Kumaris organization has attracted over 1500 journalists from across India. The event is dedicated to the theme of empowering media for global peace and harmony.
Inaugurated by Dr. Bhola Singh, a Member of Parliament and National Convener of the BJP Scheduled Caste Morcha, the conference emphasizes the transformative power of spirituality and meditation. Journalists are encouraged to integrate these practices into their lives and promote spiritual knowledge for societal betterment.
Keynote speaker Prof. Sanjay Dwivedi, former Director of IIMC New Delhi, praised the Brahma Kumaris for their multifaceted contributions to various fields. He stressed the importance of self-improvement as a prerequisite for societal advancement and ethical journalism.
Dr. Kushabhau Thakre, a journalist from Raipur, emphasized the need for journalism to focus on positive news stories, mirroring a global shift towards constructive reporting. He recognized the vital role of media in promoting social welfare and national unity.
BK Nirwair, Chief Administrator of the Brahma Kumaris, called on journalists to use their influence to spread positivity and peace globally, highlighting the organization's message of universal brotherhood.
Dr. Manasingh Parmar, a scholar, discussed India's rich cultural heritage and advocated for peace journalism as a means to unite the world under the banner of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" (the world is one family).
BK Karuna, Media Director of the Brahma Kumaris, stressed the role of Rajyoga meditation in transforming journalists' perspectives and enabling them to contribute positively to society.
The conference aims to inspire journalists to use their platforms for the greater good, fostering positivity, and contributing to global peace and harmony. It will continue with sessions over five days, concluding on September 12.
