Interactive Food Culture Workshop Hosted at Maharana Mewar Public School

Workshop Celebrates Rajasthan’s Culinary Heritage

Udaipur,  A two-day interactive workshop on food culture, organized under the initiative The Kindness Meal and supported by Alliance Française, Jaipur and the Institut Français in India, was held at Maharana Mewar Public School to raise awareness among students about the virtues of Rajasthan’s traditional foods.

The workshop aimed to honor the rich food legacy of Rajasthan and encourage students to appreciate its traditional culinary elements. Thirty students from classes 7 and 8 participated in the engaging sessions.

Participants explored various topics including Rajasthan’s fading food practices, traditional grains and vegetables, eating habits, and preservation techniques. An interesting dimension of the discussion was the comparison of culinary traditions between Rajasthan and France, broadening the cultural perspective of the young attendees.

As part of the workshop, students designed posters and created artistic food diaries centered around traditional Rajasthani meals.

Key speakers included Deepali Khandelwal, founder of The Kindness Meal, author Hemlata Chauhan, and Elogon Noël, Academic Manager at Alliance Française, Udaipur. The event was held under the guidance of French department in-charge, Shweta Sukhwal.
