Udaipur. In a heartfelt act of selflessness, 90-year-old Smt. Suman Bhargava’s wish to donate her body after death was fulfilled by her sons, setting an exemplary precedent for society.
Smt. Suman Bhargava, wife of Late Shri Om Prakash Bhargava, firmly believed in the need for positive changes in traditional customs. She often expressed, "Just as we need science, science also needs us." Inspired by these beliefs, she made the decision to donate her body for medical research and education.
Family’s Pride and Support
Her sons, Anupam Bhargava (retired State Bank officer) and Colonel Nirupam Bhargava (retired Army officer), took great pride in fulfilling her final wish. Her daughter-in-law, Dr. Sunita Bhargava, is a professor at Geetanjali Medical College. Although she also wished to donate her organs, doctors advised against it due to her medical condition.
Geetanjali Medical College’s Contribution
The body donation ceremony was attended by GMC Dean Dr. Sangeeta Gupta, Additional Principal Dr. Manjinder Kaur, Head of Anatomy Dr. Prakash K.G., PR Manager Harleen Gambhir, staff, students, and members of the Bhargava community.
