Udaipur, Master Bhavesh, a 13-year-old boy from Udaipur, was successfully treated at Geetanjali Hospital for difficulty in breathing and extreme weakness. Upon thorough examination, it was discovered that he was suffering from the rare condition called "Abernathy Malformation." In this condition, blood from the intestines bypasses the liver and directly enters the heart, leading to increased ammonia levels in the body, which can cause failure of both the liver and heart.
Dr. Ramesh Patel and his team performed the surgery, identifying the malformation through a vein in the leg and closing it with a device. Post-operation, Master Bhavesh’s oxygen levels improved, and his heart's pumping capacity also became better.
This is the first time in South Rajasthan that such a complex and rare disease has been successfully treated. Geetanjali Hospital provided free treatment to Master Bhavesh, as he came from an underprivileged family, demonstrating a humanistic approach.
Geetanjali Cardiac Centre is always ready to handle such complex treatments, and Geetanjali Medical College and Hospital has been providing world-class services under one roof for the past 17 years.
