Studio Green has announced the release of the Chiyan Vikram starrer 'Thangalaan' on August 15 in theaters nationwide. The announcement was made on their official Instagram handle, where they shared a poster of the film. The poster features South Indian star Chiyan Vikram holding a stick, with a large crowd in the background. This thrilling cinematic experience is directed by renowned South Indian filmmaker Pa Ranjith.

It is noteworthy that the South Indian film industry has dominated the box office post the COVID-19 pandemic. South filmmakers have been releasing blockbuster films one after another, making substantial profits. While Bollywood films were struggling post the pandemic in 2021, South Indian films like 'Pushpa' and 'KGF 2' were released and achieved remarkable box office collections, setting a trend for South Indian films which audiences have embraced.

Following this, 'RRR' also made a historical collection, further establishing the presence of South Indian films among Indian audiences. As a result, several major films are highly anticipated in 2024, including 'Pushpa 2', 'Devara Chapter 1', and 'Kantara Chapter 1'. Among these is Chiyan Vikram's much-awaited film 'Thangalaan'.
