### 35 ECG Machines Installed in Wards for Patient Convenience

**Udaipur:** With the recent accreditation of NABH, MB Hospital has begun implementing new measures to enhance patient safety. Recently, the hospital administration has introduced electrocardiogram (ECG) testing facilities in all wards, installing a total of 35 ECG machines across various wards. The primary goal is to prevent patients and their relatives from wandering around the hospital for ECG tests.

Despite having all necessary facilities, MB Hospital faced some logistical issues, particularly with patients having to be taken to the emergency room for ECG tests from wards like trauma, surgery, medicine, and pediatric wards. To address this problem and ensure patient safety, Hospital Superintendent Dr. R.L. Suman has arranged for ECG machines in all wards. He mentioned that some wards already had ECG machines, and new ones were recently installed where needed. The hospital purchased approximately 35 ECG machines, allowing patients to get their ECGs done in their respective wards.

This initiative has significantly reduced the number of ECGs performed in the emergency room. Previously, all patients admitted to wards would come down to the emergency room for ECGs, but now their ECGs are conducted in their wards. This has decreased the number of ECGs performed on a single emergency room machine from 250-300 to just 50.

**Statements:**

**Dr. R.L. Suman, Superintendent, MB Hospital:**
"To determine the heart's health, even serious patients from the wards were sent to the emergency room for ECGs. To eliminate any risks during this shifting and to reduce inconvenience for relatives, we have arranged for ECG facilities in the wards. ECG machines are not very expensive, so we procured 35 machines and will install more if needed."

This new approach ensures the safety of patients and provides greater convenience, reducing the need for emergency room visits solely for ECG tests.
