District Health Committee Monthly Meeting*

**Udaipur, The District Health Committee's monthly meeting was held on Saturday at the Zila Parishad Auditorium under the direction of District Collector Arvind Poswal and the presence of Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Shankar Bamnia. The meeting was attended by Deputy CMHO, Additional CMHO, DDW, SMO WHO, DPM, UPM, BCMO, BPM, NCD nodal, DNO, and all CHC in-charges from the district.

CMHO Dr. Bamnia emphasized the importance of preventing incidents like the one in Poplati village by focusing on seasonal diseases and ensuring vigilant monitoring. He stressed the need to raise awareness about waterborne diseases, treat contaminated water, and test drinking water samples in villages. Instructions were given for the immediate reporting of any unusual incidents to the district level.

Additional CMHO Dr. Ragini Agarwal pointed out the slow progress in generating Ayushman Bharat cards through e-KYC in Kotda, Gogunda, and Girwa, and the low distribution in Kanod, Fateh Nagar, and Kherwada. She called for special attention to these areas. The progress in other regions was satisfactory. Instructions were also given to improve the creation of ABHA IDs in Gogunda, Girwa, and Nayagaon. Family planning programs need to increase sterilization cases, with particular emphasis on Kotda, Sayra, and Phalasia, where numbers are currently low. Dissatisfaction was expressed over the slow progress in PPIUCD and Antara injections in Udaipur city, Mavli, and Bhinder.

During the RCH review, Dr. Akshay Vyas and Mudit Mathur suggested increasing delivery facilities in areas with low delivery rates and focusing on zero-delivery institutions. Instructions were given to ensure online registration of delivery cases, which is currently at 64%, and to trace and register 1,589 missing deliveries. The urban health centers' performance in vaccination was found lacking.

DPC Dr. Mohan Dhakad, DDW in-charge, reported that Udaipur's performance in the state government's free medicine and diagnostic schemes is commendable, with efforts needed to regain top position. Institutions were instructed to timely enter patient records online and complete activities on eight specified points. Notices were issued to institutions like Peeplabara, Palana Kala, and Picholi for conducting fewer than 10 tests.

Deputy CMHO Dr. Ankit Jain informed that rapid response teams have been formed at all institutions to handle seasonal diseases during the rainy season. These teams must be prepared to act immediately in incidents like the one in Poplati village. Anti-larval and anti-adult activities should be conducted where rainwater accumulates to prevent mosquito breeding. Measures to prevent the spread of Chandipura virus, prevalent in Gujarat, should be implemented.

Dr. Bamnia directed all necessary actions to prevent malaria and dengue in urban areas and instructed the preparation of blood slides for all fever patients for testing. Increased screening for sickle cell anemia and completion of remaining screenings were also emphasized. Immediate action was ordered against all quacks operating in the district. Dissatisfaction was expressed over the low progress in the Anemia-Free Rajasthan program in Jhadol, Rishabhdev, and Udaipur city, with directives to improve performance. Pending cases in JSY and RSY programs in Nayagaon, Jhadol, and Gogunda should be resolved. NCD Nodal Dr. Pranav Bhavasar urged accelerating the creation of ABHA IDs and online registration of NCD screenings for everyone above 30 years of age.
