Udaipur, The Department of Law at Janardan Rai Nagar University, Udaipur, organized a Legal Aid Camp today, which was inaugurated by Dr. Kala Munot, Principal of the College of Law. Dr. Prateek Gandhi shared insights on addiction, calling it a destructive force. The camp was focused on substance abuse and held in collaboration with the Village Development Fund Committee's Capacity Building Training at Dr. Mohan Singh Mehta Rural Training Centre, Kaya.
As part of the camp, a play titled "Vyasan Raj" was staged by the students of the Law College, directed by Dr. PC Jain and Manikya Lal Verma. The play depicted "Vyasan Raj" (King of Addiction) and his accomplices—alcohol, tobacco, drugs, pan, and cigarettes—who show the harmful impacts of addiction. The play's characters describe their destructive effects: the alcoholic describes how it leads to family conflicts and death; the cigarette smoker shows how it slowly damages the lungs; the pan addict speaks of the widespread staining of India’s mouth; the tobacco user warns of the adverse effects on children’s health; and the drug addict claims that once a person falls into addiction, they cannot escape.
However, Goddess Durga enters and defeats each of the evils, ultimately killing "Vyasan Raj" to signify the triumph over addiction. Dr. PC Jain, a member of Vyasan Mukt Bharat District Committee, provided the audience of over 200 rural men and women with information on home remedies for de-addiction. He also shared methods for quitting addiction using the 7D approach.
The program concluded with all participants singing the song “Ghar-Ghar Ho Gaye Ho Barbad, Nasha Tu Chhod De Aaj” with dance, emphasizing the importance of quitting addiction. The event was coordinated by Dr. Prateek Gandhi, who is in charge of the Legal Aid Camp.
The committee members of Seva Mandir, including Abrar Ahmed, also attended the program and welcomed the guests. Other notable attendees included Dr. Kala Munot, Dean of the Law College, Dr. Vinita Vyas, Dr. Anju Kawariya, Manu Madam, Chhatrapal Singh, Chirag, Dr. Dilip, and 5th-semester students of the Law College.
