### Hindustan Zinc's Investment of ₹36 Crore for Promoting Rural Education in Rajasthan

**Jaipur**: Hindustan Zinc Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Rajasthan Education Department to enhance rural education with an investment of ₹36 crore over the next five years. This MoU was signed during the Rising Rajasthan Education Pre-Summit, attended by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa, Education Minister Madan Dilawar, and Youth & Sports Minister Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore. Hindustan Zinc's CEO Arun Mishra and CSR Head Anupam Nidhi signed the agreement alongside Avichal Chaturvedi, State Project Director for the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan.

### Focus on Three Key Areas Through the Shiksha Sambal Initiative

Through the Shiksha Sambal initiative, Hindustan Zinc aims to enhance learning for students by providing teacher training, customized teaching methods, and periodic camps for secondary students. Selected schools will be equipped with modern facilities, including smart classrooms, sanitation infrastructure, and technology to meet contemporary educational standards. Additionally, in alignment with the National Education Policy 2020, career guidance and skill development training will be prioritized to empower students with essential knowledge and tools for meaningful careers.

### Benefiting Over 200,000 Students Annually

Following Vedanta Group's announcement of a ₹1 lakh crore investment in Rajasthan, this MoU aims to strengthen educational infrastructure in 72 government schools, benefiting over 200,000 students annually.

### Company’s Commitment to Inclusive Development

Hindustan Zinc CEO Arun Mishra described this initiative as part of the company's commitment to sustainable and inclusive community development. He noted that the investment would raise educational standards and reinforce Hindustan Zinc’s commitment to Rajasthan's future.

Since 2008, Hindustan Zinc’s "Shiksha Sambal" initiative has been active in Rajasthan, providing quality education to children from rural and underserved communities. As part of this commitment, the company has established over 1,400 Nand Ghars, benefitting more than 2.5 lakh women and children.
