Promoting Livestock Development Through Samadhan Initiative

### Hindustan Zinc Organizes Advanced Breed Calf Exhibition

Under the Samadhan initiative of Hindustan Zinc’s rural development program, an advanced breed calf exhibition was organized at the community center of Zawar Mines. The event witnessed participation from over 25 farmers across 15 villages, including women farmers, who have benefited from artificial insemination (AI) techniques aimed at improving livestock health and productivity.

During the event, detailed insights were shared about the progress of the Samadhan initiative and the ongoing livestock development activities in the Zawar Mines region. The key dignitaries present were Dr. Rajendra Dorwal, Nodal Officer of the Animal Husbandry Department, Jaisamand, and Ram Murari, SBU Director of Hindustan Zinc, Zawar Mines.

Ram Murari appreciated the agricultural and animal husbandry initiatives run by Hindustan Zinc and BAIF in nearby villages, encouraging farmers to maximize their benefits. Representatives from BAIF highlighted the significance of artificial insemination using sorted semen and elaborated on various livestock development programs. Dr. Dorwal guided farmers on enhancing their income through integrated farming and emphasized the importance of nutrition and hygiene for livestock health and productivity.

During the program, the healthiest AI-bred calves were honored, and farmers who significantly contributed to the initiative’s success were also recognized. Hindustan Zinc’s Samadhan initiative has positively impacted over 30,000 farming families across five districts, with over 3,000 women farmers adopting advanced agricultural innovations. Additionally, more than 5,000 farmers have been trained in modern agriculture and livestock techniques, while over 10,000 have received training on improved farming methods and government schemes. Furthermore, over 15,000 farmers have been supported in high-tech vegetable cultivation, low tunnel farming, trellis farming, mushroom farming, and horticulture.
