SOUTH WESTERN COMMAND TECHNOLOGY ABSORPTION SEMINAR:  EMBRACING INNOVATION FOR FUTURE WARFARE

A ‘Technology Absorption Seminar’ was held by Sapta Shakti Command at Hisar Military Station on 25 Mar 2025 to foster an in-depth understanding of cutting-edge technologies and their integration into future warfare strategies.

 

This seminar brought together top defence experts and leaders to discuss emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), cyber warfare and next-generation communication networks. The event was aimed to explore how these innovations can be seamlessly integrated into, enhancing operational effectiveness, decision-making and defence capabilities alongwith equipment induction. Key highlights of the seminar were Expert Panel Discussions on disruptive technologies reshaping global security, Exhibitions of new generation equipment by Industry Partners, Strategies to explore implementation roadmaps for defence modernization and Networking Opportunities with leading technology providers and defence professionals.

Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, Army Commander, Sapta Shakti Command was the chief guest of the event. In his address he highlighted the importance of exponential technological growth redefining the nature of conflict & challenging traditional concepts. He emphasised on aligning own efforts with vision 2047. The Army Commander highlighted the requirement of seamless synchronisation between armed forces, Industry and Academia through various initiatives, start-ups and MSMEs, strengthening the defence technology ecosystem. He exhorted all stakeholders to align themselves to Drivers, Concepts & Pillars of Transformation and ensure induction of niche technologies into armed forces. He also apprised the gathering on initiatives undertaken by the Command in establishing In-House Think Tanks, Centre of Excellence & Technical Hubs to foster Innovation and R&D.

Another key milestone in this direction was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on “Collaborative Research and Development” between South Western Command and Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJUST). This MoU was signed by Prof. (Dr.) Narsi Ram Bishnoi, Vice Chancellor of GJUST and Army Commander, South Western Command. It symbolises a step forward towards military civil fusion and whole of nation approach in finding futuristic solutions.
