Commissioner Pragya Kevlramani Honoured with CM’s Excellence Award

Udaipur, On the occasion of Civil Services Day, Udaipur Divisional Commissioner Ms. Pragya Kevlramani was honoured with the Chief Minister’s Excellence Award 2025 at the state-level function held at HCM RIPA, Jaipur. Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma presented the prestigious award for her inspirational efforts to promote the Olympic-recognised sport Lacrosse in the tribal-dominated regions of the state.

The Chief Minister applauded her contribution towards developing the sport among tribal youth and creating a platform for excellence and empowerment. Chief Secretary Shri Sudhansh Pant was also present during the ceremony. The recognition brought joy to players and members of the Lacrosse Federation of India, with celebrations reported from across the country and the Udaipur division.

Key Initiatives Undertaken

Under Ms. Kevlramani’s leadership, players from remote tribal regions were empowered to excel in Lacrosse, bringing laurels to Rajasthan. With the support of CSR funding, players received financial sponsorships to participate in national and international tournaments. Additionally, arrangements such as hockey astro turf for practice, ashram hostels for residence, and floodlights for night training were facilitated.

Remarkable Achievements

With consistent motivation from the Divisional Commissioner and training under Coach Neeraj Batra, seven female and three male players represented India on international platforms. The female team won a silver medal in the Asian Championship. On the national stage, Rajasthan dominated across all categories:

Senior Women’s Team: Gold in both first and second national championships, and the Federation Cup.

Junior Women’s Team: Gold in both first and second editions.

Sub-Junior Women’s Team: Silver in the second edition.

Senior Men’s Team: Gold in the Federation Cup and second national championship.

Junior Men’s Team: Gold in the first edition, bronze in the second.

Sub-Junior Men’s Team: Silver in the second national competition.

Lacrosse Academy to be Established in Udaipur

Inspired by the Rajasthan team’s accomplishments and the exceptional talent from tribal regions, the Government of Rajasthan has announced the establishment of a Lacrosse Academy in Udaipur under its annual budget. This academy will nurture future Olympians and serve as a hub for the sport’s development in the region. The implementation process is currently underway.
