The JEE Main 2025 examination held on Tuesday, April 8, presented a paper that ranged from medium to hard in difficulty. While it was largely scoreable, the Mathematics section challenged students' time management and patience. For those who had diligently followed NCERT, Chemistry proved to be the easiest section. Physics remained balanced and was neither too difficult nor too simple.
Physics: Concept-Based and Balanced
According to Nitin Vijay, Founder and CEO of Motion Education, the Physics section leaned from easy to moderate in difficulty. A well-maintained balance between theoretical and numerical questions was observed. Topics like Projectile Motion, Work and Energy, Rotational Motion from Mechanics, and Capacitance, Magnetic Fields created by current from Electrostatics and Magnetism featured prominently. Geometrical optics, ray diagrams, and Photoelectric Effect from Modern Physics were also included. Although most questions were formula-based, conceptual clarity was key to solving them.
Chemistry: NCERT-Focused and Manageable
Chemistry was considered the most manageable among the three. The difficulty ranged from easy to moderate, with a heavy emphasis on NCERT content, especially in Inorganic and Physical Chemistry. Questions from P-Block, Coordination Compounds, and Chemical Bonding were primarily statement- and fact-based. Physical Chemistry featured numerical questions from Thermodynamics, Electrochemistry, and Solid State. In Organic Chemistry, reactions and questions from General Organic Chemistry were asked.
Mathematics: Lengthy and Calculation-Intensive
Mathematics emerged as the most time-consuming and difficult section. Many questions were lengthy and required detailed calculations. The section included questions from Coordinate Geometry (Straight Line, Parabola, Circle), Calculus (Differentiation, Definite Integrals, AOD), Algebra (Binomial Theorem, Complex Numbers, Probability), and Vector & 3D Geometry. Strong problem-solving skills and a solid grasp of mathematical concepts were essential. Topics like Matrices, Conic Sections, and Calculus required careful time allocation. Several students reported knowing the answers but being unable to attempt all questions due to time constraints.
In summary, while the April 8 JEE Main 2025 paper was within reach for well-prepared students, success largely depended on strategy, time management, and conceptual understanding—especially in the Mathematics section.
