Udaipur Bird Festival Concludes: Minister Kharadi Highlights Importance of Nature Conservation

Udaipur, The three-day Udaipur Bird Festival concluded on Sunday with a grand ceremony held at Harishchandra Mathur Lok Prashikshan Sansthan. Tribal Area Development Minister Babulal Kharadi graced the occasion as the chief guest, while the event was presided over by Udaipur Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena. Distinguished guests included Divisional Commissioner Pragya Kevlani, Chief Conservator of Forests S.R.V. Murthy, Chief Conservator of Forests Sunil Chidri, and Rahul Bhatnagar, President of Green People Society.

During the event, winners of various competitions organized during the festival, along with bird rescue and conservation enthusiasts, were felicitated by the guests.

Call for Greater Awareness and Participation
Minister Kharadi emphasized the need for such events to raise public awareness about nature conservation. He congratulated the winners and encouraged active participation in similar initiatives to fulfill one’s duty toward environmental conservation.

MLA Phool Singh Meena highlighted the importance of such events, especially their role in connecting students to nature, which can contribute significantly to forest and bird conservation efforts in the future.

Highlights of the Festival
The event featured the screening of a short film related to birds by Pradeep Sukhwal. Deputy Conservator of Forests Devendra Kumar Tiwari shared insights into the activities conducted over the past three days, noting the enthusiastic participation of students and youth this year.

The program was skillfully hosted by renowned environmentalist Dr. Satish Sharma, who shared engaging information about wildlife and conservation. Arun Soni of WWF India extended the vote of thanks. The ceremony was attended by forest department officials, students, and nature enthusiasts.

Documentary Screening and Ecological Insights
The festival's conclusion was marked by the screening of a documentary created by noted bird experts Pradeep Joshi and Bharti Sharma. The documentary showcased the rich ecology of Menar, focusing on its biodiversity and conservation efforts. It highlighted the breeding of the Great Crested Grebe, a bird once thought to breed only in colder regions. The documentary depicted the bird's nesting, mating, and rearing behaviors, capturing captivating scenes of parents feeding and teaching their young. This insightful presentation offered viewers a deeper understanding of bird habits and conservation needs.

Recognition for Panther Coverage
During the closing ceremony, journalist Gopal Lodha was honored by Minister Babulal Kharadi and MLA Phool Singh Meena for his exceptional coverage of the Gogunda panther case. The guests praised Lodha’s efforts in wildlife conservation reporting and extended their congratulations.

The Udaipur Bird Festival concluded with a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees about the importance of preserving nature and biodiversity.
