T first-year students from Maharana Pratap University’s College of Agriculture and Technology visited the residence of Solar Woman Dr. Manju Jain in Arvind Nagar, Sundarvas, to learn about the solar cooker.
Dr. Manju Jain explained the working mechanism of the solar cooker, describing it as a boon for working women and an eco-friendly tool. She highlighted that cooking with a solar cooker conserves gas while preserving the nutritional value and taste of the food. Students learned that the solar cooker can easily prepare dishes like peanuts, sweet potatoes, poha, semolina, cashews, and a variety of foods including kheer, kadhi, dal rice, and green vegetables. It can also be used to make items such as besan chakkis, atta laddoos, and cookies.
Dr. Jain, who has been using solar cookers for the past 40 years, continues to provide training to students on their use. The event also featured water conservation advocate Dr. Jain PC Jain.
The event was attended by new engineering students including Anshuman, Sunny, Prakhar, Vaibhav, Tanvi, Mishika, Yugvi, and Kadambini.
