Udaipur, December 9, 2024 – The President of the world’s largest service organization, Lions Club International, Fabricio Oliveira from Brazil, along with his wife Emarilas Oliveira, will visit Udaipur on a two-day trip starting December 11. During this visit, they will inaugurate Rajasthan’s first dialysis center operated by the Lions Club, built at a cost of ₹80 lakh.
State-of-the-Art Dialysis Center
Former International Director of Lions Club, Dr. V.K. Laddha, shared that this dialysis center, located at Lions Bhavan, Hiran Magri Sector 4, has been established with contributions from the Lions Club International Foundation, Pacific College and Hospital, and 25 local donors. Equipped with six modern dialysis machines, this center will provide free dialysis services to underprivileged, economically weaker, and BPL kidney patients.
The project, the largest of its kind undertaken by any voluntary organization in the city, will be managed by Pacific Medical College and Hospital (PMCH). Kidney specialists, led by Dr. Ashutosh Soni and his team, will oversee patient care. The inauguration ceremony will also feature Rahul Agarwal, founder and chairman of PMCH, as the guest of honor.
Lions Club’s Global Service Legacy
Former Multiple Council Chairman of Lions Club, Arvind Sharma, highlighted that Lions Club, with 14 million members and 49,000 clubs across 209 countries, is dedicated to grassroots service for the needy. In Udaipur, Lions Club runs several permanent service initiatives, including programs at Maharana Bhupal Public Hospital, benefiting thousands.
Honoring Donors and Dignitaries
On December 11, an honor ceremony will be held at Hotel Ramada Encore to felicitate donors and select members of Lions Club with medals and certificates.
Future Discussions and Visits
On December 12, President Oliveira will hold meetings with the District Governors and Past Governors of Lions District 3233E-2 to discuss future service initiatives. A meeting with Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar at City Palace is also scheduled, followed by a city tour. The President will depart for Bengaluru on December 13.
