### "Gulzar-Baat Pashmine Ki" Concludes Udaipur's Gulzar-e-Ghazal Program

**Udaipur** - The final day of the Gulzar-e-Ghazal program, organized by the West Zone Cultural Centre, saw the captivating event "Gulzar-Baat Pashmine Ki." The program commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony, setting a serene tone for the evening.

Furqan Khan, Director of the West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur, shared that "Gulzar-Baat Pashmine Ki," curated by Neesh Entertainment from Pune, honored the Padma Bhushan and Jnanpith Awardee, Gulzar Sahib, through an audio-visual show. The show featured readings from his poems and books, alongside live renditions of his melodious songs, depicting his journey from struggle to success.


Actors Sachin Khedekar, Kishore Kadam, and Purnima Manohar highlighted the poet within Gulzar, while Swapnaja Lele, Abhilasha Chellam, Dhaval Chandwadkar, and Jitendra Abhyankar brought his poetry to life with their captivating voices. The audience was treated to heartfelt poetry such as "Ik sabab marne ka, ik talab jeene ki...", "Chand Pukhraj ka, baat Pashmine ki...", and "Yeh pattharon ki sej kabhi sakht nahi lagti...", as well as evergreen songs like "Phir Wahi Raat Hai, Phir Wahi Raat Hai Khwab Ki...", "Naam Gum Jayega, Chehra Yeh Badal Jayega...", "Pukaar Lo, Tumhara Intezaar Hai...", and "Mora Gora Ang Lei Le...".

The show, conceptualized and directed by Milind Oak and written by Praveen Joshi, depicted the transformation of Sampooran Singh Kalra into Gulzar, and then into the celebrated Gulzar Sahib. Reflecting on the show, Gulzar Sahib himself remarked, "Using short flashbacks is my way of storytelling. Today, 'Baat Pashmine Ki' is my longest flashback so far. Now, it belongs to you."

 

 

 

 

 

 

Artist Girish Charwad added a visual dimension to the event by painting on canvas, complementing the live songs with videos that encapsulated the essence of Gulzar's persona. The evening concluded with the honoring of the performers and the event was beautifully anchored by Durgesh Chandwani.

This celebration not only paid homage to Gulzar's extensive career but also offered a profound look into the life and works of one of India's most cherished poets and filmmakers.
