**Sirohi |** A training program titled *NAAC Inspection Information and Process* was organized on Tuesday at Government College Sirohi under the guidance of Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur. The event was attended by Prof. Sunita Mishra, Vice-Chancellor of Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Prof. S.S. Bhanawat, Director, IQAC, Prof. K.B. Joshi, Nodal Officer for NEP 2020, Dr. V.C. Garg, Registrar, Dr. R.C. Kumawat, Controller of Examinations, and Dr. N.K. Parik, University Programmer. The program was hosted by Prof. Ajay Sharma, Principal of PG College Sirohi.
Prof. Sunita Mishra, in her address, emphasized the importance of NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) accreditation for any institution in the current higher education landscape. She mentioned that after obtaining NAAC accreditation, institutions can avail themselves of various financial benefits and opportunities. The Vice-Chancellor provided insights on the NAAC peer team visit and explained how institutions can achieve high scores by effectively demonstrating their strengths.
She further discussed the optimal use of available resources to ensure high scores during NAAC visits. She also explained the classification of points for SSR reports and campus visits, along with the aspects that the NAAC peer team evaluates during their visits. Prof. Mishra also discussed the seven new dimensions added to the NAAC evaluation process.
Dr. V.C. Garg, Registrar, expressed his gratitude to the Principal and the college family for organizing this important training program, highlighting its role in improving the academic standards of the institution.
Prof. S.S. Bhanawat, Director of IQAC, stressed the critical role of the IQAC committee during the NAAC visit. He explained that an institution can only assess its strengths and weaknesses through an external evaluation, which is what the NAAC process accomplishes. He advised that institutions must work according to their defined vision to achieve the set goals.
Prof. K.B. Joshi, Nodal Officer for NEP 2020, talked about the goals set by the New Education Policy, especially focusing on the overall development of students' personalities. He highlighted the implementation of the semester system, which ensures comprehensive academic and co-curricular development. This system, he said, would benefit the institutions during NAAC evaluation.
Dr. R.C. Kumawat, Controller of Examinations, discussed the innovations in evaluation under the new education policy's semester system. He mentioned that internal assessments, including tests and assignments, are now mandatory for students, which will lead to better exam results.
The program was attended by all faculty members of the college as well as principals and representatives from other colleges in the district.
