Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnataka, Vice-Chancellor of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Rajasthan, His Excellency Hari Bhau Vikramrao Bagde, on Friday evening at the Circuit House in Udaipur. During the meeting, Dr. Karnataka presented the Governor with a bouquet and briefed him on ongoing research, agricultural extensions, and patented innovations at MPUAT. Additionally, he handed over the university's monthly magazine *Rajasthan Kheti Pratap* along with other agricultural literature.
Governor Bagde had arrived in Udaipur on Friday evening after participating in the inauguration of the 5th State-Level Tribal Festival held in Banswara and other events. Following his overnight stay, the Governor addressed a review meeting with district officials on Saturday.
During the meeting, Dr. Karnataka informed the Governor that MPUAT had secured a record number of over 54 patents this year. Notably, one of the key achievements includes the patenting of a machine that converts bio-waste into fuel after biogas production. Governor Bagde encouraged the Vice-Chancellor to focus on initiatives that benefit tribal communities and emphasized the effective implementation of state and central agricultural schemes in tribal-dominated areas.
