Special Training on Advanced Cultivation of Tuber Crops

On March 8, 2025, a training program on advanced cultivation techniques for tuber crops was organized at the Gram Panchayat Bhavan, Dhar, under the All India Coordinated Tuber Crop Research Project as part of the Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) initiative.

Project In-charge Dr. Virendra Singh provided detailed insights on the advanced production techniques of tuber crops like yam, colocasia, elephant foot yam, and sweet potato, covering topics such as seed treatment, soil preparation, appropriate sowing time, fertilizer application, sowing techniques, and storage methods.

Dr. Ramnarayan Kumhar educated farmers about common diseases like late blight and collar rot, along with their symptoms and preventive measures. Meanwhile, Dr. Mahendra Gora shared information on pests affecting tuber crops and their effective management strategies.

Agriculture Supervisor Naveen Mali guided tribal farmers on increasing productivity through high-quality seeds, proper storage of grains and seeds, and various government agricultural schemes.

Panchayat Samiti Member Vaktaram and the former Sarpanch distributed Nepsec sprayers to tribal farmers, promoting modern agricultural practices.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by the local agriculture supervisor.
