### Collaboration Strengthened Between IEA and Rajasthan Soft Hockey Association Under Prof. Amarika Singh’s Leadership

Jaipur, A significant courtesy meeting was held between the office-bearers of the Indian Economic Association (IEA) and the Rajasthan Soft Hockey Association under the guidance of Prof. Amarika Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Vikrant University and Chairman of the IEA Apex Council. Discussions focused on fostering partnerships and collaborative initiatives to enhance sports and academics.

The IEA dignitaries, including Prof. A.K. Tomar, Dr. A.K. Asthana, and Prof. Indu Varshney, honored the Soft Hockey Association members by presenting them with traditional uparnas. Esteemed national and international players such as Gajendra Singh Rathore, Ramesh Singh, and Indrajit Singh Shekhawat, along with Dr. Kuldeep Singh Jhala, graced the occasion.

Prof. Singh also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Rajasthan Soft Hockey Federation, marking a pivotal step toward promoting soft hockey in Rajasthan. The MoU aims to provide training facilities, develop players’ skills, and jointly promote the sport.

In his address, Prof. Singh emphasized Vikrant University’s commitment to sports, highlighting how the partnership would create new opportunities for students and athletes. He expressed confidence that this collaboration would elevate the standard of sports in Rajasthan.

During their Jaipur visit, IEA officials reviewed preparations for the upcoming 107th International Conference of the Indian Economic Association, scheduled from December 27 to 29, 2024. They lauded the progress and expressed satisfaction with the arrangements.

This meeting not only strengthened sports-academia ties but also set a milestone in advancing soft hockey and fostering holistic development among players and institutions alike.
