Udaipur: The third season of PIMS Mewar Cup witnessed thrilling semi-final matches on Saturday night at Madan Paliwal Miraj Stadium, Nathdwara. Star-studded teams Liberty and Delhi Challengers secured their spots in the final after impressive victories. This season, like the previous editions, featured international, national, and IPL players showcasing their power-hitting skills. Following the successful second edition, the tournament is being organized under the aegis of PIMS Hospital, Umarda, and Miraj Pipe & Fitting.
Semi-final Highlights:
In the first semi-final, Liberty set a formidable target of 210 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Yajash Sharma played a sensational knock of 95 off 51 balls, supported by Ritik Shokeen (32) and Harsh Vaishnav (26). In response, Udaipur Lakecity Warriors managed only 172 runs in 19.4 overs, losing by 38 runs. Abhimanyu Lamba and Shiva Singh took two wickets each, while Yajash Sharma was named Man of the Match.
In the second semi-final, Delhi Challengers posted a mammoth total of 245 for 6 wickets. Landew Singh smashed an unbeaten 119 off 52 balls, while Karan Sharma contributed 89 runs. Navdeep Saini, Vikas Dixit, and Tejas Singh picked two wickets each. Chasing the total, GR Cricket Academy fell short at 189 runs. Kunal Singh Rathore (78) and Karan Lamba (42) fought hard, while Hemant Choudhary took three wickets. Landew Singh was awarded Man of the Match.
The tournament featured teams like Liberty, PIMS, MPCA Delhi Challengers, Udaipur Lakecity Warriors, Udaipur Cricket Academy, Adityam Real Estate, and GR Cricket Academy. On the final day, a lucky draw winner will receive an electric scooter. The champion team will be awarded ₹5 lakh, while the runner-up will receive ₹3 lakh.
