### Workshop on Advanced Technology in Drug Development at Pacific University

Pacific University's Pharmacy Department and Pacific Medical University organized a national-level workshop on "Computational Approach in Drug Discovery and Drug Repurposing." This online workshop focused on the use of computational methods in drug discovery and repurposing.

**Keynote Speaker and Topics:**

The keynote speaker, Dr. Vishwas Tripathi, Registrar of Gautam Buddha University, discussed the use of a single drug for various diseases. He explained the effective use of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and molecular modeling. These technologies can reduce the cost of drug discovery by 45% compared to traditional methods. Dr. Tripathi also emphasized the need for developing QSAR modeling, pharmacophore modeling, and comprehensive drug and protein data banks.

**Welcome Address:**

Professor Hemant Kothari, Dean of PG Studies, highlighted the importance of antibiotic resistance and the safe use of medicines in his welcome address. He also provided insights into the ongoing research and innovations in this field.

**Participants and Interaction:**

The workshop saw participation from around 200 individuals, including researchers, teachers, doctors, and students. The participants actively engaged in the question-and-answer session, making the workshop a success.

**Presidential Address:**

Professor B.P. Sharma, President of Pacific Group of Education, explained the theme and objectives of the workshop and announced plans to hold similar workshops monthly in the future.

**Workshop Review:**

Professor Amitabh Kumar, Head of the Pharmacology Department, and Professor H.P. Gupta, Head of the Surgery Department at Pacific Medical College and Hospital, reviewed the workshop, describing it as logical and meaningful.

Dr. M.M. Mangal, Vice-Chancellor of Pacific Medical University, expressed gratitude to the keynote speaker, distinguished guests, and participants.
