Beautiful Smile Restored Through Surgery

Udaipur, Aesthetic dental care has become more than a cosmetic concern; it is now a vital health necessity. Addressing a similar case, a team from Pacific Dental College & Research Centre and PMCH in Bedla, Udaipur, successfully provided a beautiful and healthy smile to an 18-year-old girl using orthodontic braces and Le Fort 1 Osteotomy surgery.

The girl was suffering from functional and cosmetic challenges associated with cleft palate. To address maxillary deficiencies and improve facial symmetry, Le Fort 1 Osteotomy surgery was performed. Under the guidance of Dr. Piyush Bolya, the Orthodontics Department successfully completed the orthodontic braces treatment. This was followed by Le Fort 1 Osteotomy surgery to correct cleft lip, cleft palate, jaw deformities, and facial asymmetry.

Dr. Piyush Bolya, Head of the Orthodontics Department at Pacific Dental College, emphasized the importance of this surgery in improving the patient's ability to chew, speak, and breathe, while also enhancing facial aesthetics. He explained that Maxillary Le Fort 1 Osteotomy is an advanced surgical technique used to correct structural problems in the upper jaw (maxilla). This procedure is considered revolutionary in oral and dental care.
