Dr. Atul Luhadia Highlights Asthma Awareness at Alwar Chest Conference

Udaipur – Dr. Atul Luhadia, renowned pulmonologist from Pacific Medical College & Hospital (PMCH), Udaipur, delivered a significant lecture on asthma diagnosis and treatment during the “Respiratory Update” conference held in Alwar. He was invited as a distinguished speaker at the event.

Dr. Luhadia explained that asthma is a chronic respiratory condition characterized by inflammation and narrowing of the airways, leading to symptoms like breathlessness, chest tightness, coughing, and wheezing. He noted that triggers include allergies, pollution, dust, smoke, weather changes, and physical exertion.

He emphasized that asthma can be diagnosed through patient history, clinical symptoms, and specific tests like spirometry, peak flow meter, allergy tests, and X-rays.

While there is no permanent cure for asthma, Dr. Luhadia stated that it can be effectively managed. He recommended inhaler therapy as the most effective, safe, and targeted treatment.

“Inhalers deliver medicine directly to the lungs, providing quick relief with fewer side effects. Regular use enables patients to lead a normal life and significantly reduces the chances of asthma attacks,” he said.

Dr. Luhadia also debunked myths about inhalers, clarifying that they are not addictive but are medically approved devices that are safe for all age groups.
