Paras Health Successfully Treats Achalasia Cardia

Udaipur, : Renowned laparoscopic surgeon Dr. Sapan Ashok Jain at Paras Health, Udaipur, successfully treated a 24-year-old patient from Rajsamand suffering from Achalasia Cardia through advanced laparoscopic surgery. The patient had been experiencing symptoms like acid reflux, vomiting, and difficulty swallowing for 3-4 years without relief from regular medications.

Achalasia Cardia is a rare disorder where the lower part of the esophagus becomes narrow, resembling a bird's beak, making it difficult for patients to swallow solid food. To address this condition, a complex surgical procedure called "Heller Cardiomyotomy with Dor Fundoplication" was performed. Despite the complexity, Dr. Jain successfully executed the surgery using a minimally invasive surgical telescope with a small camera.

Commenting on the successful procedure, Dr. Sapan Ashok Jain of Paras Health, Udaipur, stated, "Achalasia Cardia is a challenging condition that significantly diminishes a patient's quality of life. Through advanced laparoscopic techniques, we were able to correct this issue, allowing the patient to eat normally for the first time in four years. Witnessing such a positive transformation in the patient's health is incredibly gratifying."

Just three days after the two-hour surgery, the patient was able to consume solid food normally, marking a significant improvement in recovery. The patient was discharged within four days, leading to complete recovery and relief from symptoms like vomiting and abdominal pain.

Dr. Jain is known for his expertise in bariatric and advanced laparoscopic surgery. He is committed to advancing minimally invasive surgical treatments, offering hope and improved quality of life to those in need.
