### Paras Healths :Rare and Complex Spine Surgery Successfully Performed

*Udaipur,  Paras Health, Udaipur, has achieved a medical milestone by performing a highly rare and intricate spinal surgery. The procedure was conducted on Dr. Rajeev Jain (name changed), a physician who had been suffering from intense lower back pain and leg weakness. After thorough examinations and an MRI scan, a hemorrhagic synovial cyst was detected in his spine, compressing crucial nerves and causing significant mobility challenges.

Hemorrhagic synovial cysts are uncommon fluid-filled sacs that typically form near spinal joints. Although usually benign, Dr. Jain’s case was complicated by internal bleeding, resulting in a rare form of the condition. Symptoms included acute pain, radicular issues, and nerve compression. Globally, only about 50 cases of hemorrhagic synovial cysts have been recorded.

Dr. Ajit Singh, Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon and Spine Surgeon at Paras Health, Udaipur, led the surgery. He highlighted the gravity of the situation, stating, “The hemorrhage within the cyst was exerting substantial pressure on the spinal nerves, increasing the risk of permanent nerve damage or even paralysis. We had to act swiftly to remove the cyst and alleviate the pressure. The surgery, which took four hours, involved advanced techniques to ensure the nerves were preserved while the hemorrhagic cyst was safely extracted.”

Before opting for surgery at Paras Health, Dr. Jain had sought opinions from medical experts across various cities, including Ahmedabad. However, due to the complexity of his case, he ultimately chose to trust the expertise of Dr. Singh and his team.

The rarity of this condition posed a significant challenge, but the surgery was successfully completed without complications. The removal of the cyst not only alleviated pressure on the spine but also mitigated the risk of permanent nerve injury.

Remarkably, Dr. Jain experienced immediate post-surgical relief. He was able to walk unaided the next day, and the weakness in his legs had greatly subsided.

Grateful for the successful outcome, Dr. Jain shared, "I was deeply concerned about my worsening condition, but Dr. Singh’s expertise and the swift intervention made all the difference in my recovery."
