### Paras Health Successfully Removes Large brain Tumor

**Udaipur**: Paras Health, Udaipur, has successfully performed a highly complex brain surgery on a 57-year-old woman, giving her a new lease on life. The woman had been suffering from weakness in the right side of her body, headaches, speech difficulties, and personality changes for the past two years. After consulting with Senior Neurosurgeon Dr. Amitendu Shekhar at Paras Health, it was discovered that she had a large brain tumor located between both hemispheres of her brain, causing significant pressure and swelling. The tumor, measuring 7 cm x 7 cm, was pressing against critical blood vessels and shifting the left side of her brain towards the right, posing a serious threat to her life.

Although the woman had previously been advised to undergo surgery, she delayed it due to fears of paralysis, coma, or death. However, Dr. Shekhar and his team employed a cutting-edge, minimally invasive approach to remove the tumor. Utilizing advanced technology such as the Cavitronic Ultrasonic Surgical Aspirator (CUSA), which liquefies tumor tissues, the team successfully extracted the entire tumor. The CUSA device uses ultrasonic frequencies to break down the tumor tissues, allowing for precise removal without damaging surrounding areas. Combined with high-magnification operative microscopy, this technique enabled the complete removal of the tumor with minimal risk.

The woman showed significant improvement post-surgery and was discharged from the hospital just seven days after the operation. There were no post-operative symptoms, and she is now living a healthy, tumor-free life.

Dr. Amitendu Shekhar expressed his satisfaction with the successful outcome, stating, "This case was particularly challenging due to the size and location of the tumor, which was compressing critical parts of the brain and affecting the patient’s daily life. By using advanced technology like CUSA, we were able to perform the surgery with great precision and minimal risk. Early detection and timely intervention are key in such cases, and I’m very happy to see her recover so well. At Paras Health, our goal is always to provide the best possible care with the least discomfort to the patient, and we were able to achieve that in this case.”
