Gwalior, The Chancellor of Vikrant University, Shri Rakesh Singh Rathore, unveiled the logo for the prestigious West Zone Inter-University Kho-Kho (Men) Championship today. Organized under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), the event was hailed as a moment of pride and honor for Vikrant University.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Rathore stated, “Hosting this championship is a historic moment for Vikrant University and a testament to the achievements of our sports department. This event reinforces our commitment to promoting sports culture and marks a new chapter in the university’s legacy.”
Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Sports Board, Shri Vikrant Singh Rathore, emphasized, “The championship will create a vibrant atmosphere for sports within Vikrant University and inspire greater participation in athletics.”

Professor Amarika Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Vikrant University, extended her virtual congratulations on this significant occasion. She expressed gratitude to AIU for entrusting Vikrant University with this major responsibility and confirmed that all preparations have been completed to ensure the event's success.
Participation from Five States
Dr. Kuldeep Singh Jhala, Director of Sports at Vikrant University, shared that the championship will witness participation from over 1,000 athletes representing five states of the West Zone – Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Goa. He remarked, “This championship is a significant responsibility for Vikrant University, and its successful organization will elevate the university’s reputation in the sports domain.”
Special Guests and Officials
The unveiling ceremony was attended by senior faculty members, including Professor Anand Kumar Singh, Dr. Veer Narayan Singh, Registrar K.D. Pathak, Private Secretary to the Chancellor Aishwarya Jadon, and Director of Sports Dr. Kuldeep Singh Jhala, along with other university officials.
Launch of Kho-Kho World Cup
Coinciding with the logo unveiling, the Kho-Kho World Cup also commenced in India today. Extending his congratulations to the nation, Shri Rakesh Singh Rathore stated, “This day is special, as we celebrate both the launch of the West Zone Inter-University Kho-Kho Championship logo and the beginning of the Kho-Kho World Cup. We look forward to seeing international players compete in the championship.”
Event Details
The West Zone Inter-University Kho-Kho (Men) Championship will be hosted by Vikrant University, Gwalior, from March 7 to March 11, 2024. Team entries for the event can be submitted until February 15, 2025.
