Essay Competition and Seminar Held on Diver Victory Commemoration Day at B.N. Kanya Unit NSS Camp

Udaipur . The NSS Unit of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at Bhupal Nobles University organized an essay competition and seminar on Diver Victory Commemoration Day. On this occasion, the Managing Director of Bhupal Nobles Institution, Mohabbat Singh Rathore, encouraged the participants and called for increased public awareness about the Diver Victory, highlighting that this day is a moment of pride for us. The Diver Battle was a historic confrontation where the Mewar army forced 36,000 Mughal soldiers to flee. This victory remains etched in history books. The battle took place in 1582 between the forces of Mewar's Rajkumar Amar Singh I and the Mughal army led by Commander Sultan Khan. The victory in this battle helped Maharana Pratap reclaim his lost territories. However, the new generation is not well-acquainted with this valor of Mewar. To address this, the education department has decided to annually observe Diver Victory Commemoration Day.

Dr. Shilpa Rathore, Dean of the college, addressed the participants, emphasizing that essay writing helps in developing our writing skills. Dr. Lokeshwari Rathore, NSS Program Officer of the college, mentioned that NSS volunteers actively participated and shared their views on the topic. On this occasion, Dr. Jyotiraditya Singh Bhati, NSS Coordinator of the university, provided detailed information about the essay competition, noting that winners would be honored at the district and state levels.

Faculty members Dr. Mohan Singh Rathore and Dr. Hussaini Bohra shared their thoughts on Diver Victory. University Chairperson Colonel Professor Shiv Singh Sarangdevot, Secretary of Vidya Pracharini Sabha Dr. Mahendra Singh Agarwal, and Registrar Dr. Niranjan Narayan Singh Rathore sent their best wishes, emphasizing the need to raise awareness about Diver Victory, which is not widely known. Colonel James Tod had referred to the Diver battle as the "Marathon of Mewar," drawing a parallel to the Battle of Marathon fought between the Greeks and Persians in 490 B.C., where Greece emerged victorious. Noted historian Colonel Tod described Maharana and his army’s valor as comparable to Spartan warriors, noting their fearlessness even against four times larger armies. A 65-foot-tall statue of Maharana Pratap on horseback stands as a monument at the Diver Victory site. This information was provided by Public Relations Officer Dr. Kamal Singh Rathore.
