5th Pharmacy Awareness Tour Receives Grand Welcome in Udaipur

Udaipur, March 4: The 5th Pharmacy Awareness Tour, held in celebration of the 123rd birth anniversary of Professor M.L. Shroff (1902-1971), the pioneer of pharmacy education in India, arrived in Udaipur. The tour, which started on February 27 from Rajghat in New Delhi, will conclude on March 6 at the DY Patil Institute in Mumbai. The primary goal of this tour was to raise awareness about pharmacy education, bring all stakeholders together, highlight the importance of pharmacy professionals, and promote the field of pharmacy education. The tour was organized by Amit Jha from Pharma Lok, Delhi, and Dr. Prajnya Kumar Shukla from Prayagraj.

On the fifth day of the tour, Udaipur's coordinator, Dr. Kamal Singh Rathore, shared that the team visited several pharmacy colleges in Udaipur, including Bhupal Noble College of Pharmacy, Asian College of Pharmacy, Rajasthan Vidyapeeth College of Pharmacy, Geetanjali Institute of Pharmacy, Pacific College of Pharmacy, and Sunrise College of Pharmacy. They also met with Nand Lal Agarwal, a disciple of Professor Shroff, and Colonel Professor S.S. Sarangdevot, the Vice Chancellor of Rajasthan Vidyapeeth. All the colleges gave the team a warm and respectful welcome, showcasing local culture.

Amit Jha expressed that this tour has provided an excellent opportunity to spread awareness about pharmacy education and unite all stakeholders on a single platform. He hopes that the tour will mark the beginning of a new era in the field of pharmacy education. It is notable that the first pharmacy college in India was established in 1932 at Banaras Hindu University under the guidance of Professor M.L. Shroff.

The tour included participation from Dr. Ashok Dashora, Dr. S.S. Sisodia, Dr. J.S. Waghela, Alok Bhargav, Dr. Rahul Garg, Dr. M.S. Rathore, Dr. R.S. Bhadoria, Dr. Suresh Dev, Dr. Anju Goyal, Dr. Kalpesh Gaur, Dr. Udaybhan Singh, and others.
