Pratapgarh, As per the directives of the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority (RSLSA), Jaipur, a special awareness program under the "Child Marriage-Free India" campaign was organized today under the guidance of District Legal Services Authority President, Omi Purohit (District and Sessions Judge), and Secretary Kedarnath (Additional District and Sessions Judge), at Gayatri Seva Sansthan.
Following the instructions from the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), Secretary Kedarnath and his team conducted the awareness session at the Government Senior Secondary School, Jaitlia, in Pratapgarh. During the event, the NALSA theme song "Ek Mutthi Aasman" was played, and its significance was explained.
Secretary Kedarnath also informed the staff and students about the NALSA helpline number 15100, encouraging them to report any upcoming child marriages in their communities or families. They were urged to contact the Legal Services Authority, District Collector of Pratapgarh, or the local police station, or to use the helpline.
To further spread awareness, a torch rally was organized, aiming to engage the public.
As part of the "Child Marriage-Free India" campaign, a pledge ceremony was conducted as per the instructions of the Ministry of Women and Child Development. The aim was to raise awareness among as many people, especially children, as possible. The event also highlighted various legal services for child protection, such as NALSA's Legal Aid for Child Welfare and Protection Scheme 2015, the Rajasthan Victim Compensation Scheme 2011, and the Legal Aid Scheme for Acid Attack Victims 2016, among others.
Secretary Kedarnath made an appeal to the students, staff, and the public to actively contribute to the success of the campaign and help eliminate this social evil.
