On December 12, 2024, General Manager of Western Railway, Shri Ashok Kumar Mishra, conducted an inspection of the Regional Railway Training Institute, where all the institute's officers were present. The Principal of the institute, Jai Prakash, welcomed the GM by presenting him with a traditional Mewadi turban and shawl, and also showcased a beautiful rangoli created by the trainees. The Principal gave a detailed presentation on the ongoing work and upgrades in the training facilities. He also briefed the GM on new projects such as the demonstration yard, hostel, and mess construction.
Following this, the GM inspected various model rooms of the institute and was briefed on the latest training facilities. He also planted a tree in the institute's main garden. During a safety seminar, the GM motivated over 1,100 trainees to work with awareness and caution. The GM appreciated the institute's outstanding work and training quality and announced a cash prize of ₹25,000.
Later, a cultural program was held in the Shastri Auditorium, where the Principal, Shri Jai Prakash, and other officials inaugurated the event by lighting a lamp. The trainees presented various performances, including a play on Shaheed Khudiram Bose, which captivated the audience. Other performances included folk dances and solo singing. The chief guest appreciated all the presentations and awarded the winners.
It is noteworthy that the Regional Railway Training Institute was inaugurated on October 9, 1956, by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India. Railway employees from various regional railways across India receive training here, with over 1,100 employees currently undergoing training, the majority of whom are from Western Railway.
