Big Boost for State Roads

Jaipur,  The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, has approved a funding of ₹1,154.47 crore for the development of 27 roads in Rajasthan. Additionally, ₹30 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of a railway underbridge in Sri Ganganagar. This funding will facilitate the widening and strengthening of 748.80 kilometers of state roads and the construction of a high-level bridge over the Kalisindh River in Kota.

This approval was granted under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) and the Setu Bandhan Scheme, thanks to the efforts of Deputy Chief Minister Disha Kumari. She had earlier met with Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari to discuss support for the development of various roads and large infrastructure projects in the state.

Deputy CM Disha Kumari expressed her gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for this approval. She stated that this approval for ₹1,154.47 crore for 27 state roads is a significant step toward enhancing the state's infrastructure and accelerating development.

She further highlighted that the construction of these roads would benefit many regions in Rajasthan, making transportation smoother and boosting trade, tourism, and agriculture. The improved road network will also foster economic growth and create new employment opportunities in the state.

Road Construction in Various Districts

With this funding, widening and strengthening of 27 road projects under the MDR (Major District Roads) and State Highway categories will be carried out in 17 districts across 15 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state.

  • Alwar District: ₹24 crore for 24 km (Alwar constituency), ₹69 crore for 51 km (Kherthal-Tijara).
  • Alwar-Bahrood Road: ₹49.30 crore for 28.62 km.
  • Barmer District: ₹57.50 crore for 49 km (Balotra).
  • Bhilwara District: ₹74 crore for 44 km (Shahpura).
  • Bikaner District: ₹73.30 crore for 71.80 km.
  • Chittorgarh District: ₹20 crore for 17 km (Pratapgarh).
  • Jaipur Rural & Sikar Districts: ₹65 crore for 57.70 km.

Additionally, road projects will be undertaken in Jalore (₹65 crore for 49 km), Jhalawar (₹149.97 crore for 81.25 km), Jodhpur (₹55.65 crore for 53 km), Kota (₹80 crore for 33 km), and the construction of a high-level bridge over the Kalisindh River (₹70 crore). Roads in Pali, Rajsamand, Tonk, and Udaipur will also see improvements.

This initiative will further boost Rajasthan’s road infrastructure and contribute to its economic progress.
