Agra: Under the supervision of the UP Air Squadron, a Parachute Jumping Training Camp was organized in PTI Air Force Agra from September 1, 2023, to September 25, 2023. Out of the 15 lakh NCC cadets from across India, only 43 NCC cadets were selected for this camp.
Wing Commander Sumit Shekhar, in charge of UP Air Squadron Agra, explained that the selection of these 43 NCC cadets was extremely challenging. Each cadet who aspired to participate in this course had to undergo a rigorous selection process. Ultimately, 23 boys and 20 girls from all over the country were chosen for this camp. In this course, cadets had to parachute jump from a height of approximately 1200 feet and safely land on the ground. This entire process is inherently dangerous, but participants were meticulously trained to ensure that they could achieve their goals without any harm or difficulty in adverse and varying conditions.
Dr. Lokesh Gupta, the college's patron, mentioned that Kushwant Singh Rathore, a second-year student of Dairy Technology, has brought great honor to the college by being selected for this camp. Dr. Gupta stated that the NCC camp is the most significant of its kind and Kushwant Singh Rathore competed with 15 lakh NCC cadets from across India to achieve this challenging goal. He expressed confidence that Kushwant Singh Rathore's determination and dedication would bring pride to the Mewar region, and he was pleased that Kushwant did not disappoint. In the training camp, each cadet is required to perform a parachute jump at least once, but Kushwant Singh Rathore, with unwavering determination, completed three parachute jumps, earning recognition from the NCC.
MPUAT's Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnatak, said it was a matter of great joy that Kushwant Singh Rathore, a student of the Dairy and Food Technology College, has achieved a remarkable feat. He congratulated the student and his parents, emphasizing the importance of combining education with national service.
