Two-Day Meera Mahotsav at Rajasthan Vidyapeeth

Udaipur. A two-day Meera Mahotsav will be organized on February 21 and 22 under the joint auspices of Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, and Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University, Udaipur. This festival will be dedicated to literature, culture, and the Bhakti tradition, with the participation of scholars, writers, critics, and artists from across the country.

Program coordinator Prof. Pradeep Trikha informed that the festival will commence with an inaugural session at 11:00 AM on February 21 at the IT auditorium of the university. The event will be inaugurated by Prof. Shiv Singh Sarangdevot, Vice-Chancellor of Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University, Udaipur. The welcome address will be delivered by Sahitya Akademi’s Deputy Secretary Devendra Kumar Devesh, while Madhav Hada, a member of Sahitya Akademi’s General Council, will present the opening remarks.

The chief guest of the ceremony will be Sahitya Akademi President Madhav Kaushik, and the presidential address will be given by Vidyapeeth Chancellor Bhanwarlal Gurjar. Following the inaugural session, the first session will be held at 2:00 PM, chaired by Malay Paneri. Scholars Khajoor Singh Thakur and Jeevan Singh Kharkwal will present their thoughts. The second session will take place at 4:00 PM, chaired by renowned critic Vijay Bahadur Singh, with lectures by Manju Chaturvedi and Vishal Vikram Singh. The evening will conclude with a special Meera Bhajan performance by renowned singer Niharika Sinha.

On February 22, the third session will be held at 10:00 AM, chaired by Braj Ratan Joshi, with discussions by Raouf Ahmed Adil and Sarwat Khan. The concluding session will take place at 12:00 noon, chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shiv Singh Sarangdevot, with the valedictory address delivered by former Chancellor Balwant Jani.
