Historical Tour of Kumbhalgarh Fort Leaves Students Awestruck

Udaipur: The Department of History and Culture at Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University organized a historical tour for postgraduate students and researchers studying history. The aim was to provide insight into the architecture and culture of Kumbhalgarh Fort.

Dr. Hemendra Chaudhary, Head of the Department of History, shared that Maharana Kumbha and the fort built by him hold significant importance in the history of Mewar. He emphasized that Kumbhalgarh Fort plays a vital role in understanding Mewar's history, as well as the architectural, temple culture, and sculpture art present within the fort. This excursion aimed to promote research in architecture, temple sculpture, and military strategies.

Assistant Professor Dr. Mamta Purbia informed that the students first visited Mamadev Temple, Prithviraj's Chhatri, Mamadev Kund, Brahman Temple, Galerao Group of Jain Temples, Juna Bhilwara Jain Temple, Kheda Devi Temple, Neelkanth Mahadev Temple, Parsvnath Temple, Yajna Vedi Temple, among others. They observed the temple architecture and sculptures, gaining a deeper understanding of the military and architectural strategies at Kumbhalgarh Fort.

The historical tour was attended by students including Bindiya Panwar, Payal Lohar, Chain Shankar Dashora, Anshdeep Chundawat, Nitesh Lohar, Abhay Pateriay, Hemant Menaria, Rajat Patel, and Chandraprakash Bhatt.
