Physics Tricky, Maths Lengthy, and Chemistry Easy

JEE Main 2025 Session 2 Begins

Kota: The JEE Main 2025 Session 2 exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) started on Wednesday. The difficulty level of the subjects was as follows: Physics was tricky, Maths was lengthy, and Chemistry was relatively easy.

Nitin Vijay, Founder and CEO of Motion Education, mentioned that on Wednesday, the difficulty level of Physics was moderate, while Mathematics was as lengthy as usual. The difficulty level of Chemistry ranged from easy to moderate. Overall, the paper was of a moderate level, well-structured, and the distribution of questions across different subjects was generally balanced compared to Session 1. The paper included a mix of conceptual and numerical questions.

In the first shift, Physics questions focused more on Mechanics, Electrodynamics, Electrostatics, and Current Electricity. The chapters included Kinematics, Gravitation, Rotational Motion, Laws of Motion, Magnetism, Ray Optics, Modern Physics, Work, Power & Energy, Heat, and Thermodynamics. The numerical-based questions were relatively easy, and some fact-based questions were drawn from NCERT Class 12 chapters.

The Mathematics section was lengthy, with lengthy calculations in the numerical portion. Calculus and Coordinate Geometry were the main focus areas. Some students noted that there were questions on Vectors and 3D Geometry, but they were not difficult. Questions were asked from Conics, Vectors & 3D Geometry, Permutations and Combinations, Binomial Theorem, Circles, Quadratics, Sequences, and Series. Some questions required long calculations, which made time management challenging, but overall, the level of difficulty was balanced.

Compared to Physics and Maths, the Chemistry section was easier. Inorganic Chemistry was given more importance than Organic Chemistry. More questions were asked from Physical Chemistry. Topics included Aldehydes and Ketones, Chemical Bonding, Electrochemistry, Mole Concept, Coordination Compounds, Liquid Solutions, Atomic Structure, Chemical Kinetics, and Biomolecules.

In the second session of JEE Main, the BTech and BE papers will be held on April 3, 4, 7, and 8, 2025, while the BArch and BPlanning papers (Paper 2A and Paper 2B) will be conducted on April 9, 2025. On Wednesday, the first shift exam took place from 9 AM to 12 PM, and the second shift exam was held from 3 PM to 6 PM. Four exam centers were set up in the city. AI-based video analytics and virtual observers were used for monitoring the exam centers, and jammers were installed. Live monitoring of each classroom was done through a centralized system.
