The 8th Pacific Cup Cricket Tournament saw an outstanding performance by Geetanjali Dental and Research Institute, securing the championship trophy. The tournament featured 16 dental teams from four different states of India and was held across various cricket grounds in Udaipur from February 17 to February 22.
The 16 teams were divided into four groups, with Geetanjali Dental and Research Institute and Pacific Dental College and Hospital advancing to the final. The final match, held on February 22 at Karnapur Cricket Ground, saw Pacific Dental winning the toss and opting to bat first, setting a target of 161 runs. Shivam Pandey delivered a stellar performance for Pacific, scoring 36 runs off 20 balls.
Chasing the target, Geetanjali Dental achieved victory with three balls to spare. Dr. Saurabh Singh played a phenomenal innings, scoring 120 runs off 69 balls, including 6 fours and 11 towering sixes.
Dr. Saurabh Singh was awarded Man of the Match, having scored a total of 348 runs in the tournament. Meanwhile, Abhinav from Geetanjali emerged as the top bowler, taking 13 wickets.
The tournament aimed to promote sportsmanship and foster camaraderie among dental students, making it a memorable event for all participants.
