## A Special Diwali Celebration through Art

# Colorful Expressions: Deaf-Mute Children Create Diwali Magic
This Diwali, the spirit of festivity is elevated by the heartfelt creations of deaf-mute children, who have poured their emotions into crafting beautiful diyas and fabric bags. Each purchase not only enhances your celebrations but also brings joy to the faces of these talented artists.

## Heartfelt Creations by Talented Students

The stunning diyas and bags, made by students from deaf-mute schools in Ajmer, Bhilwara, and Udaipur, will be available for purchase at a special Diwali stall organized under the HeartWithFingers initiative. These handcrafted items reflect the creativity and spirit of the children involved, showcasing their unique expressions through art and sign language.

## Empowering the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs

The initiative, part of Hindustan Zinc’s CSR program, Life Tarang, aims to foster entrepreneurship among these children while enhancing their vocational skills. With guidance from trainers who taught using sign language and support from 28 Hindustan Zinc employees, these students transformed simple clay and fabric into vibrant pieces of art.

## Collaboration for a Noble Cause

Approximately 150 students from various deaf-mute institutions, including Ajmer Deaf School, Abhilasha Special School, Udaipur Deaf School, and Bhilwara Deaf School, participated in this creative endeavor. This program not only nurtures their artistic talents but also instills a sense of pride and accomplishment.

## Life Tarang: A Journey of Empowerment

Hindustan Zinc launched the Life Tarang program in 2017, dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities by providing better educational opportunities. This initiative has positively impacted over 700 visually impaired and deaf-mute children, helping them become contributing members of their families.

## Transforming Lives through Education

Through Life Tarang, approximately 600 children have learned Indian Sign Language through a dedicated curriculum, while more than 100 visually impaired children have gained access to technology, including Daisy players, smartphones, and computers. This comprehensive approach ensures these children are equipped with the skills necessary for a dignified and self-reliant future.

## A Vision for Inclusion and Empowerment

Hindustan Zinc’s commitment extends beyond education, actively supporting deaf-mute individuals with sign language training and enhancing educational resources for the visually impaired. This Diwali, as you light your diyas, remember the creativity and resilience of these children, whose art brings light and joy to the community.
