### MLSU Celebrates Guru Purnima and Inaugurates Water Harvesting System

 Department of Geology at Mohanlal Sukhadia University celebrated Guru Purnima and inaugurated a water harvesting system installed by the Mewar Polytex Group. The event was graced by distinguished guests Dr. P.C. Jain, Dr. S.K. Jain, Mr. Sunil Thada from Mewar Polytex Group, Mr. P.K. Wardia, Dr. Vinod Agrawal from Alumni Geology, and Dr. Ritesh Purohit, Head of the Geology Department. The celebration saw the participation of faculty members, students, and other attendees.

During the event, the guests shared insights on the benefits of water conservation and strategies to combat future water scarcity. The program concluded with a tree plantation activity involving guests and students in the Geology Department. The entire event was conducted by Dr. Maya Chaudhary.

**Drum Water Harvesting**

For the first time in Udaipur, the college implemented a unique water harvesting system. They used a fiber drum, punctured and embedded into the ground, packed with small and large stones around it, and connected to the roof's drainage pipes. This system allows rainwater to fill the drum and gradually recharge the groundwater.
