RRVUNL's Quality Community Health Services Provide Free Healthcare to Rural Residents

Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RRVUNL) has been making significant efforts to provide quality, free healthcare services in rural areas through the Adani Foundation. These initiatives are part of their community engagement program and focus on improving access to healthcare in several villages around the Parasa East and Kete Basen (PEKB) mines in the Udaipur block of Sarguja district. The introduction of free ambulance services has also proven effective in providing timely medical assistance to patients during emergencies. This initiative by RRVUNL has delivered a wide range of high-quality medical services to thousands of rural residents at no cost.

**Operation of Two Healthcare Centers**

Through the Adani Foundation, RRVUNL has established healthcare centers in the villages of Salhi and Parasa, providing primary medical services to the local population. In the Salhi center, Dr. Ajit Yadav treats patients using both allopathic and Ayurvedic methods, while in the Parasa center, Dr. Pooja Pandey leads a team that provides care using allopathic and homeopathic practices.

Babunath Singh, a 49-year-old farmer from Fatehpur, suffered from a severe skin condition that was worsening due to a lack of quality treatment. He was concerned about seeking medical advice but found relief at the RRVUNL's Parasa healthcare center. After a month of regular treatment, Babunath's condition significantly improved, and he is now feeling much better.

**Day-Care Medical Center and Mobile Medical Van**

In the village of Gumga, RRVUNL has set up a six-bed day-care hospital, where 1,867 individuals received treatment in the past quarter. Among them, 119 emergency cases were assisted with free ambulance services. This comprehensive health program is coordinated under the guidance of Dr. Deepak Pungle. Additionally, a mobile medical van regularly visits fourteen peripheral villages, including Ghatbarra, Hariharpur, and Tara, providing free medical consultations and medicines. The program also raises awareness about disease prevention among the rural population. In total, 4,539 beneficiaries have availed themselves of these quality healthcare services.

A 56-year-old tribal woman from Ghatbarra village, Parbatiya, shared her experience: "I had been suffering from persistent headaches and dizziness for a long time. I consulted a doctor in the Adani mobile medical van, who diagnosed me with high blood pressure causing the headaches. The free medication provided to me has now completely alleviated my condition."

**Mega Medical Camps in Villages**

RRVUNL has been organizing special medical camps in villages around the PEKB coal block. The aim of these camps is to ensure that remote communities have access to essential healthcare services, including dental, pediatric, eye, skin, and gynecological care.

**Installation of Sanitary Pad Vending and Incinerator Machines in Schools**

RRVUNL has installed sanitary pad vending and incinerator machines in primary and secondary government schools in Salhi and other villages, promoting menstrual hygiene management among adolescent girls. This initiative plays a crucial role in improving health outcomes for the rural communities around the PEKB mines.

Notably, the PEKB mine of Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited has been honored with a 5-star rating by the Ministry of Coal for the past five years. This recognition is awarded for the mine's excellent work in environmental, health, and safety standards, as well as its contributions to quality education, healthcare, livelihood enhancement, and infrastructural development in the surrounding villages.
