Hindustan Zinc, a leading global producer of zinc, lead, and silver, is playing a pioneering role in shaping the future of India’s children through education. As a responsible corporate entity, the company has impacted the lives of over 200,000 children in Rajasthan through its various educational initiatives, helping them move toward a brighter future. Hindustan Zinc believes that today's children are the future of tomorrow’s India, and its goal is to ensure that all children have access to quality education and healthcare.
The company is actively working to provide the best education, nutrition, and health support to schoolchildren in seven districts of the state, ensuring that they contribute to a stronger nation and a better tomorrow.
Hindustan Zinc has launched the Bal Vikas Project, aimed at the holistic development of children. The initiative operates in collaboration with the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) department across 14 Anganwadi centers in five districts of Rajasthan, including Udaipur, Salumber, Rajsamand, and Chittorgarh. The project focuses on strengthening the six key services provided under the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS), such as providing nutritious food, implementing early childhood education, and improving children's health, hygiene, and sanitation.
The company has also upgraded 3,292 Anganwadi centers across 15 districts, transforming them into Nand Ghars (digital learning centers). These centers are equipped with toys, smart TVs for e-learning, RO water systems, child-friendly toilets, and a safe, secure environment. The transformation of Anganwadis into Nand Ghars has led to a greater attachment from both children and the community, with many parents now opting to send their children back to these centers instead of private schools.

Hindustan Zinc has also launched a major initiative to promote sports with the Zinc Football Academy, which plays a crucial role in nurturing football talent. Over 350 students have benefited from the academy, contributing to the growth of football both in Rajasthan and across India.
The company’s commitment to providing education to all is reflected in its Jeevan Tarang Program, which benefits children with disabilities. Over the past seven years, more than 900 children have received support through this program, which encourages disabled children and adults to become contributing members of their families and communities.
