Under the auspices of the Rajasthan government, the 'I-Start Hackathon 2023' and the 'Kavach-2023' Cyber Security Hackathon, organized by the Indian government, witnessed a triumphant performance by students from Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies, Udaipur (GITS). Emerging as champions, these bright minds illuminated the entire Udaipur region.
Engineering plays a pivotal role in shaping the structural framework of our nation's development. Education, employment, and entrepreneurialship constitute its three crucial dimensions. GITS actively fosters synergy among these aspects through initiatives such as A.I. Ready, Industry Ready, and Entrepreneurship and Student Ready programs. Training in Python, Java, R, natural language processing, and AI is provided to equip students with proficiency. Industry Ready endeavors involve collaborations with over 20 reputable corporate entities, enabling industry visits, expert talks, and hands-on training. The Entrepreneurship and Student Ready initiative is facilitated by the Center of Innovation and Incubation (CII), nurturing innovative ideas and skills essential for future technology trends.
GITS has been selected as an ICITE Idea Lab, a prestigious recognition by the Rajasthan Technical University, Kota. This initiative aims to transform students' imaginative prowess into reality, channeling their creativity toward research and innovation in science and technology. The institution further supports students' startups, facilitating their transition from ideas to viable business ventures, through the establishment of the MSME Business Incubation. This initiative promotes innovative ideas with funding assistance ranging from INR 1.5 to 2 million.
GITS boasts two Centers of Excellence, the Industrial Automation Lab and the AVR Lab, accredited by the Rajasthan Technical University, Kota. These labs expose students to industrial automation training and digital platforms such as AVR. Moreover, in collaboration with UltraTech Cement, the Sustainable Building Materials Lab imparts knowledge about various cement-based materials for modern infrastructure.
In alignment with the national and state government's initiatives, hackathons are playing a pivotal role in channeling the latent talents of students and youth toward innovative solutions. GITS students excelled in both the 'I-Start Hackathon 2023' organized by the Rajasthan government and the 'Kavach-2023' Cyber Security Hackathon organized by the Indian government. Their exceptional performance earned them the first place, illuminating the Udaipur region.
Dr. N.S. Rathore, Director of GITS, highlighted the significance of hackathons as platforms for resolving real-world problems and offering cost-effective solutions. The 'I-Start Hackathon 2023' held at Sukhadia University, Udaipur, saw participation from prominent colleges across the Udaipur region. GITS students Harshit Borana, Charvi Bapna, Parth Sharma, Shivam Mishra, and Nitin Purohit clinched the top spot, receiving a cash prize of INR 50,000. Their project focuses on cleaning Udaipur's lakes by implementing a cost-effective solution to address water hyacinth proliferation and plastic waste.
