Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra and politician Raghav Chadha entered into wedlock in the picturesque city of Udaipur, known as the "Venice of the East," on Sunday. The wedding ceremony took place at the historic Leela Palace during the golden hour of sunset, with a touch of royal splendor.
While the event was kept relatively private, limited to close family and friends, the media provided coverage from a distance. Several videos circulated on social media and news outlets, capturing moments like the grand procession of the groom's party on boats departing from Leela Palace and the welcoming of guests at Leela Palace with echoing chants of marriage vows from the wedding venue.
The wedding was a regal affair, with notable guests in attendance. Among them were Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh, Youth Congress leader Aditya Thackeray, fashion designer Manish Malhotra, tennis star Sania Mirza, and cricketer Harbhajan Singh with his wife, Geeta Basra. Geeta Basra shared a video of herself and Harbhajan Singh arriving by boat for the wedding.
Raghav Chadha, part of the groom's party, arrived at Leela Palace riding a beautifully adorned boat with white flowers. The wedding rituals took place in a mandap (a decorated pavilion) adorned with white cream flowers under the auspicious time of sunset.
Interestingly, Parineeti Chopra's cousin and actor Priyanka Chopra, along with her husband Nick Jonas and their daughter, couldn't attend the wedding in India due to professional commitments. However, Priyanka's mother, Dr. Madhu Chopra, was present at the event. Priyanka extended her best wishes to Parineeti on Instagram, explaining her absence due to work commitments.
While there were reports of other high-profile attendees, they also managed to stay under the radar. The couple is expected to celebrate with guests at the reception scheduled to be held at Leela Palace tonight. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel were also slated to attend but had to cancel their plans due to unavoidable circumstances.
