Rajasthani culture came alive in the 31st dance competition

7th Subhash Lakhotia Shravan Kumar Award to Ms. Ruchika Aggarwal

Delhi: Rajasthani Academy's 31st Rajasthan Group Folk Dance Competition 2023 and 7th Subhash Lakhotia Shravan Kumar Award Ceremony was organized in a grand manner at Kamani Auditorium. In this event, more than 125 students from 13 schools enthralled the audience by showcasing their amazing, captivating and attractive folk dance skills. The ceremony was presided over by the Ambassador of Suriname, Mr. Aruncommar Hardian and the Chief of Palestine Embassy, Mr. Bassem Helis was the Special Guest and NDMC Chairman, Mr. Satish Upadhyay was the Chief Guest. 


On this occasion, Subhash Lakhotia Shravan Kumar Award, given every year for children who serve and do good to their parents, was given to the strong religious speaker and social worker Mrs. Ruchika Aggarwal. A check of Rs 1 lakh, a citation and a shield were given as awards. The winners of the 9th Rajasthani Painting Competition were also honored at the function. ‘Little Flowers Public School’ of Yamuna Vihar impressed the audience with its excellent performance and gave a strong performance by winning the competition. Chief guest Shri Satish upadhyaya praised the contribution of Rajasthan Academy in making the culture of Rajasthan alive. He said that India is recognized in the world only because of its cultural splendor. We realized this during the G-20 conference that the powerful countries of the world openly praised the cultural programs and hospitality presented at that time. 


Padmashree Nalini Kamalini, while presenting the nuances of dance, said that through it every person can experience unprecedented peace. India's dance art is appreciated in the world. Today's cultural presentations have fascinated everyone. Especially the culture of Rajasthan came alive in Delhi. Expressing his views, Ambassador of Suriname Mr. Aruncommar Hardian said that India and Suriname have close relations. This year, the President of India, Smt. Draupadi Murmu will participate as the Chief Guest in the celebrations organized on the 150th year of the establishment of Suriname. Praising the various cultural, educational, social and public welfare activities organized by the Rajasthan Academy, the speakers said that the Academy is not a platform for mere entertainment but it is an opportunity to see life closely, to spread the culture of Rajasthan to the country and the world. It is an initiative to give shape to projects of service and charity and to awaken the vision of compassion.
Chairman of Rajasthani Academy, Dr. Gaurav Gupta, while discussing the achievements of Rajasthan Academy during its long tenure, said that it is running many initiatives to present the unique culture of Rajasthan in the capital. He highlighted the efforts for cultural conservation of Rajasthan. The judges of this dance competition were Anita Aggarwal, Pooja Gupta, Anu Sinha and Deepali Sinha.
Sachet Suman Maheshwari, Secretary of Rajasthani Academy, conducted the program effectively. In the success of this function, Mrs. Shashi Lohia, M.K. Dhanuka, C.L. Agarwal, Prem Singh Dhingra, Ved Prakash, Rajkumar Agarwal, Gem Mines and Mr. Nortan Agarwal Bikanerwala, Mr. Lalit Garg had special support.
