Rajasthan House in New Delhi Should Reflect the Essence of Rajasthan

Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan and Minister for Public Works and Tourism, Dila Kumari, has stated that the upcoming Rajasthan House in the nation's capital, New Delhi, should be more than just a building; it should be a mirror reflecting the essence of Rajasthan.

On Monday, she inspected the under-construction Rajasthan House at 7, Prithviraj Road in New Delhi and discussed the project with engineers and officials. She emphasized that once the building is completed, it should make visitors feel as though they have arrived in Rajasthan. The design and facilities should align with Rajasthani culture and aesthetics. Dila Kumari instructed that if necessary, modifications should be made to achieve this vision. She also advised the use of Rajasthani artisans' skills and local materials in the construction process.

During the inspection, Dila Kumari reviewed the progress of the Rajasthan House and attended a meeting where engineers presented a progress report. She directed the officials and engineers to prioritize Rajasthani materials and craftsmanship in the construction. This includes using Rajasthani stone and paintings, adhering to the "Vocal for Local" theme. This approach will not only provide employment opportunities for local artisans but also prominently showcase Rajasthani art and culture.

She highlighted that if Rajasthani stone can be used in world-class buildings in Delhi, it should be extensively used in the Rajasthan House as well.

Additionally, Dila Kumari instructed the inclusion of an information center and a business center within the Rajasthan House. The information center should provide comprehensive details about Rajasthan for visitors and businesspeople. Given that Rajasthan is a top tourist destination with renowned attractions, it is crucial that this center effectively attracts and informs visitors about the state’s offerings. The government is committed to providing ample business opportunities and facilities, and the Rajasthan House in Delhi should serve as a hub for such information and engagement.

The Deputy Chief Minister's directives are aimed at ensuring that the Rajasthan House not only stands as a symbol of the state's rich heritage but also serves as a functional resource for promoting Rajasthan to a broader audience.
